Jacksonville med spa and salon accounting from a team that knows the city
Before moving our home base to Tampa, Amber ran The Clarity Agency from Jacksonville. Today we handle the books, payroll, tax planning, and returns for women who own med spas, skin studios, and salons from San Marco to Ponte Vedra.

Busy in Jacksonville. Still the last one paid?
- You're still on the schedule, because you're not sure the numbers work if you step back.
- You're booked out for weeks and still hold your breath before you check your bank account.
- Your team gets paid every two weeks without fail. Paying yourself is the thing that waits.
- Every April, a tax bill lands that could have been a new device, a second location, or your retirement.
- Your accountant hears from you once a year, and only about what already happened.
- People see the space, the brand, and the waitlist, and assume you're set. You're not sure what you'd have if you stepped away.
None of this means you're bad at business. It means no one has been planning the money side with you.
What Northeast Florida owners need planned
Jacksonville is spread out, and so are a lot of the businesses here. Here’s what we plan for with owners across Duval and St. Johns:
- Two counties, one business. Many owners live in St. Johns County and run their business in Duval, or open a second location across the county line. Each location needs its own numbers and the right county surtax.
- No state income tax.Florida doesn’t tax your personal income, so your federal plan does the heavy lifting: your entity, your salary, your retirement plan, and the timing of big purchases.
- Retail vs. services.Retail skincare and products are generally subject to Florida sales tax, while most of your services aren’t. If your system doesn’t separate them, you’re either overpaying or underreporting.
- Payroll that fits this industry.Florida reemployment tax, tips, commission, and provider pay all run through payroll. Getting classification right is one of the most expensive things to get wrong.
- Your Florida annual report.Due by May 1 every year for each LLC and corporation you own. Miss it, and the state adds a late fee and can eventually dissolve the entity.

Corporate-level finance for a business that deserves it
Amber Dinh holds an MBA and built her career in the finance departments of multiple Fortune 100 companies, then ran the entire accounting department of a $15 million company. She leads a team of credentialed tax professionals. The Clarity Agency works exclusively with women who own beauty businesses and med spas, from single-location studios to multi-location aesthetics groups.
Is this for you?
This is for you if…
Your business brings in $500k or more a year, you're ready for a long-term partner rather than the cheapest return, and you want your business building your wealth, not just covering payroll and taxes.
It isn't for you if…
You only need a once-a-year tax return, or you're in your first year of opening.
Jacksonville beauty & med spa accounting questions, answered
Do I need to be in Jacksonville to work with you?
No. We're a virtual firm based in Tampa, working with owners in Jacksonville, across Florida, and nationwide. Everything runs on secure video calls and your live dashboard, with the same team and the same process wherever your business is.
Do I need to charge Florida sales tax?
On retail products, generally yes: the 6% state rate plus Duval County's local surtax. Most beauty and med spa services aren't taxable, so your booking and point-of-sale system needs to separate retail from services. We review this during onboarding.
Does Florida have a state income tax?
Not on individuals. Florida doesn't tax personal income, which is why your federal plan matters so much: your entity, your salary, your retirement plan, and when you make big purchases are where the real decisions are. C-corporations do pay Florida corporate income tax, which is one more reason your entity choice matters.
Can my salon or med spa be an S-corp?
Yes. Many salons, studios, and med spas elect S-corp status. Whether it makes sense for you depends on your profit, your structure, and which entity you own. It's one of the first things we review.
Do you work with early-stage or growing founders?
Our partnerships are built for owners at $500k and beyond, but we make exceptions for the right founder. If you're growing quickly and ready for a year-round partner, apply to work with us and tell us where you're headed. If it's too early, a private strategy session is the best place to start.
How much does it cost?
Growth starts at $1,500 a month and The Clarity Partner starts at $2,500 a month. Your exact price depends on your entities, locations, payroll, and complexity, and we share it on your consultation.
Your name on the building. Not on the schedule.
We accept a limited number of new clients each quarter, and every application is reviewed personally.
