A Miami waitlist. A take-home that doesn’t match.

  • You're still on the schedule, because you're not sure the numbers work if you step back.
  • You're booked out for weeks and still hold your breath before you check your bank account.
  • Your team gets paid every two weeks without fail. Paying yourself is the thing that waits.
  • Every April, a tax bill lands that could have been a new device, a second location, or your retirement.
  • Your accountant hears from you once a year, and only about what already happened.
  • People see the space, the brand, and the waitlist, and assume you're set. You're not sure what you'd have if you stepped away.

None of this means you're bad at business. It means no one has been planning the money side with you.

Running a business in Miami

What South Florida owners need planned

South Florida businesses tend to grow up and out: more providers, more services, more locations. Here’s what we plan for with Miami owners:

  • Miami-Dade and Broward. Many South Florida owners run locations in both counties. Each location needs its own numbers and the right county surtax, and your structure should be built for more than one location.
  • Rent that rises with the address.Premium space is part of the brand here. Your pricing, your provider pay, and your owner pay all have to be planned around it, not discovered at year-end.
  • No state income tax.Florida doesn’t tax your personal income, so the real decisions are federal: your entity, your salary, your retirement plan, and when you make big purchases.
  • Retail vs. services.Retail skincare and products are generally subject to Florida sales tax, while most of your services aren’t. Your point-of-sale system needs to keep them apart.
  • Your Florida annual report.Due by May 1 every year for each LLC and corporation you own, and multi-location owners often have more than one.

Is this for you?

This is for you if…

Your business brings in $500k or more a year, you're ready for a long-term partner rather than the cheapest return, and you want your business building your wealth, not just covering payroll and taxes.

It isn't for you if…

You only need a once-a-year tax return, or you're in your first year of opening.

Miami beauty & med spa accounting questions, answered

Do I need to be in Miami to work with you?

No. We're a virtual firm based in Tampa, working with owners in Miami, across Florida, and nationwide. Everything runs on secure video calls and your live dashboard, with the same team and the same process wherever your business is.

Do I need to charge Florida sales tax?

On retail products, generally yes: the 6% state rate plus Miami-Dade County's local surtax. Most beauty and med spa services aren't taxable, so your booking and point-of-sale system needs to separate retail from services. We review this during onboarding.

Does Florida have a state income tax?

Not on individuals. Florida doesn't tax personal income, which is why your federal plan matters so much: your entity, your salary, your retirement plan, and when you make big purchases are where the real decisions are. C-corporations do pay Florida corporate income tax, which is one more reason your entity choice matters.

Can my salon or med spa be an S-corp?

Yes. Many salons, studios, and med spas elect S-corp status. Whether it makes sense for you depends on your profit, your structure, and which entity you own. It's one of the first things we review.

Do you work with early-stage or growing founders?

Our partnerships are built for owners at $500k and beyond, but we make exceptions for the right founder. If you're growing quickly and ready for a year-round partner, apply to work with us and tell us where you're headed. If it's too early, a private strategy session is the best place to start.

How much does it cost?

Growth starts at $1,500 a month and The Clarity Partner starts at $2,500 a month. Your exact price depends on your entities, locations, payroll, and complexity, and we share it on your consultation.
